Paran is a Percheron/Thoroughbred cross gelding, he is 25 years old. Paran started off as a dressage horse but a hoof abscess ended his first career. He then went on to become a mounted police horse until he retired (fired) from that. He got fired for being naughty and landed a great home with Teri and was the first horse adopted at Breezy Meadow many years ago. He is super sweet and loves to be groomed and to be paid heaps of attention. His forever love is Jade and you will always see them together.

Jade is an Anglo Arab (Thoroughbred/Arabian cross) mare. She is about 19 years old. Jade came from a loving home, her primary owner was in the military and deployed. When they realized they couldn't care for Jade the way they wanted to, they reached out to Teri. Teri went and picked her up in a monsoon level rain and says that Jade shed a tear. Jade settled in with the help of Teri and her love Paran. Teri rode Jade in endurance races, now they ride leisurely. She is quiet and sweet, but loves to be groomed and petted.

Bella is a Paint mare, she is around 14 years old. This girl is a hoot! She loves people more than she loves other horses and she loves food more than anything else in the world. You may find her following you around in the hopes of food or scratches. Never leave a door open to the feed room or tack room because she WILL help herself inside. She is small, she is mighty, and she has the personality to match.

Callie is a Paint mare, she is 23 years old. Callie was basically a wild horse when Teri got the call for rescue. Callie was in a herd basically left to their own devices. It took multiple tries and many people to get an untrusting horse into a trailer. She is very sweet, but stoic and reserved. Don't be afraid when she backs up to you because she LOVES butt rubs and will constantly position herself to get butt scratches.

Dixie is a Mustang or Mustang/draft cross mare. She is roughly 15 years old. She will nibble on your hair, your hat, your arm...pretty much anything to get your attention. She had eye surgery and had to be stalled for several weeks with a lot of ointments, eye catheters, and people touching her eyes, so she became a little tired of people for a bit, but she’s coming around again. She learned from Callie and will back up to you for a butt scratch.

Sugar is a Quarter Horse mare. She is about 15 years old. She will be the first one to go in a stall when it is offered, loves a stall nap. She is very sweet, but leery of people, especially if a halter is being carried. Once she understands that you aren’t making her do something she doesn’t like, she will stand still and enjoy the attention.

Toby is a Quarter Horse gelding. He is over 35 years old. He came to Breezy Meadow with Hawke about five years ago.He and Hawke were adopted out from Breezy Meadow to a great family many years ago. After the owner became ill and was no longer able to take care of the horses, they called Breezy Meadow to take them back so they would be safe. Of course we said yes! He acts like an old, grouchy man sometimes, but he’s a sweetheart.

Izzy is a Saddlebred mare. She is about 15 years old and has the personality you’d expect from a Saddlebred. She’s high strung, funny, bossy, and a little bit wacky. She had to learn how to be around horses since she was left to her own devices in a field with cows for most of her life. When she was found she had a long dreaded mane and tail, rough coat, long hooves, and she was underweight. She was quite spicy and wild and was sent to a trainer early on so that she could develop some manners. She is now a delight and will hunt you down for an ear scratch or a spray from the water hose.

Weezy is a Tennessee Walking Horse mare. She is 35+ years old and came to us from an extreme neglect situation. She was skin and bones and one of the worst we’ve seen. The story we got was that her owner left her at a boarding barn and never came back. The barn owner put her in a field and left her to her own devices for a long period of time. Weezy is missing many of her teeth and can’t eat grass and hay, like normal horses do. She withered away until someone finally called for her to be rescued. We got her going with four small meals a day in mash form of soaked grain pellets and alfalfa cubes and added more and more as she could tolerate it. Once she put on a good bit of weight we were able to taper down to three meals a day and then to two. Our motto for her is "what Weezy wants, Weezy gets." She is now at a great weight and boy does her personality reflect it! She gets spicy and whips her neck around at the other horses to show them some attitude!

Jiggsy is a Quarter Horse mare. She is 4 years old and came from a great home with a nice start of ground training. Her owner asked Breezy Meadow to take her in because her husband had a series of strokes and the wife no longer had the capacity to care for and train all of her horses. She was just a young filly when she came to us and could, at times, be quite the menace. She chewed on everything. She chewed on something so hard once that she actually broke a tooth out. You can walk around the barn and see signs of her little baby teeth marks everywhere you look. She also went through a biting phase and choses certain people, specifically, to harass more than others. She is a lot of fun and growing to be a beautiful girl.

Shady is a Quarter Horse mare, 20 years old. She is a retired barrel racing horse and found her retirement home at Breezy Meadow. She makes the most unique noises, high squeals and blows like an elephant. She has been pretty chill, I have a feeling we haven’t seen all her personality.
